ITLS Instructor Course

ITLS Saskatchewan requires quality and consistency in the delivery of ITLS trauma education. The ITLS Instructor plays a large role in achieving this goal. The ITLS Instructor course prepares the experienced ITLS provider to facilitate ITLS education.

Instructors:
Instructors have significant experience in emergency care, pre-hospital care, and facilitating ITLS education.

Prerequisites:
Refer to the Instructor Application package for details on instructor prerequisites.

Certification:
Providers will earn their ITLS Instructor certification upon completion of the online ITLS instructor training, a one day in-class session and a teaching mentorship with an IT.

Recertification:
To maintain certification instructors must teach two courses in two years, and complete any updates as mandated by ITLS International or ITLS Saskatchewan.

ITLS Instructor Reciprocity Process

ITLS Instructors from other chapters who wish to become certified with ITLS Saskatchewan will be required to be monitored by an ITLS Saskatchewan Instructor Trainer at their own expense. Please refer to the fee schedule on the ITLS Saskatchewan website at www.itlssask.ca

Proof of current registration in good standing as an ITLS instructor is required for the course registration.

NOTE: If a reciprocity instructor is unsuccessful in their monitoring, ITLS International will be contacted for further direction.
